The weekend before Roby was supposed to go on alert last, his airman had a death in the family and had to get off alert to go back home with his wife and son. Because they were leaving fairly quickly and putting two dogs in a kennel for one night is well over $40, they asked if "we" could watch them. As Roby was the next one going on alert, he had to take his airmans place...which left me with the dogs. They are pretty dogs, but don't have very good manners. The husky got out of our backyard twice during the first 24 hours we had them (luckily Roby was still home at that point), and once while Roby was gone. They followed me around the entire eleven days Roby was gone and I had them. The black lab whined almost constantly even though he needed nothing. They were great when I was giving them attention, but couldn't be giving them attention the whole time!
They really wanted love...all the time!
Needless to say, I was not entirely upset when then went home on Friday! ;-)
