"Pom Granate"

About a week ago I was talking to my Grandma on the phone. She was talking about her pomegranate tree and I told her I had gotten one or two since living here but they are always really sour so the kids didn't like them much. A few days later I got a box in the mail with five pomegranates!!! When I showed the kids, Nat asked where the "pom granates" came from. When I told them, they were super excited and asked over and over if we could open them. Because we had a lot going on the night I got the box, we had to wait until the next day to dig in.

I opened one up and showed them how to get the seeds out.

Nat finished the first one.

Ethan was being very helpful...

At one point they started squeezing the seeds to watch the red juice go everywhere...I had to put a stop to that pretty quickly, but they thought it was hilarious!

Ethan didn't want any help with the second one.

Trying some.

I'm not sure what this face is for, but it made me giggle.

I spread them on a few paper towels to dry before putting the ones they didn't eat in the fridge.

The next morning they ate a ton more!

Silly kids!

It was an extremely fun surprise to get in the mail!!! The kids are still loving eating them every day! (And me too!)

I have one in my fridge I now want to eat. Need to be reminded the easy way to get the seeds out though.
