Projects And Getting Closer To Pictures

Yesterday was a busy day. Roby had my "get me to school for cheap car" at the bases auto hobby shop nearly all day (and part of Friday). He was able to replace the stabilizing parts on Friday and spent all day yesterday repairing the break line. He worked on the emergency break (that has not worked the entire time we've had it), and wasn't able to get it working properly. The joys of owning an unmaintained older car! But, it is drivable again!!! He ROCKS! This is fabulous as he's going on his mountain biking trip before I start my summer classes, so this was pretty much the only time he had a good stretch of weekend to really work on it. I'm not sure when he's going to work on the emergency break...but I don't park on a hill anywhere, and its an automatic...so I'm good for now. The oil pan also needs to be completely replaced...ugh. I don't think it will ever end with that little car! I can't wait to have a job and be able to buy two better, more reliable vehicles!!!

While he was doing that, I got Ethan from his friends house, and the kids and I headed over to Lowes. We needed to pick up a few more supplies. Supplies for what?!?!?! Friday evening, Roby and I primered Natalie's room! Bye-bye poo-poo brown!!! I needed a couple more rollers (so I didn't have to wait for it to dry completely before using it again!), another size of paint brush, plastic tray liners, etc, and some paint-thinner (we had gotten some eco-friendly stuff, but it wasn't very effective). I also grabbed a small plastic pot for the fuchsia plant Ethan and I picked up at a different store a couple days before (pics of that to come too!).

Back at home, I painted the ceiling (which is not my idea of a good time) twice, as well as around the window, white. This took a while! (At one point I had to stop to get Roby something to eat and get him some more parts from the store.) But, before stopping yesterday, I got purple on the walls! I couldn't tape the ceiling, because I want to let it dry a lot more, so I just rollered the "middle" of the walls all around! Its...very purple!!! In a few hours, I'll go up there an tape off the ceiling so I can go around with my paint brush, roller again, then use the paint brush again. Then all that will be left, is to let that dry for a day or so so I can tape it off and paint the baseboards white....I think that's all.

She is currently sleeping in Ethan's room. I'm amazed that I got her mattress in there! I moved things around, and it barely fits in there! It was better than trying to lug it back downstairs though! Hopefully by Wednesday/Thursday I can start taking things into her room!!

It was such a nice day yesterday, that while I was busy upstairs, the kids played in the backyard (with the dogs) for at least eight hours! And nicely too!!! At one point, though, I did have to stop and pull 18 splinters out of Ethan's hands he got from the back deck. He said all but one didn't hurt, but I'm a mom and didn't want to let them fester. 18!!! I have no idea what he was doing!

Tomorrow is my last day of class. I finished my online classes on Wednesday and Friday. Then I promise I will try to start going through pictures! Its a tad overwhelming as there are thousands of pictures in Photoshop now!!! Seriously! I'll start with house pics, even if there are others that I want to share! ;-)

And

Happy Mother's Day!!!

With each thing you do to the house it will feel more and more like yours. And time of course. I cant wait to see what you are doing and Im so happy to hear the kids are enjoying the yard (and deck?). I hated splinters as a kid but I guess they are a part of growing up. So brave Ethan is.

Happy Mother's Day to you too. Bring on that 2 week holiday!
