Mall Adventure

I've had these pictures waiting to post for a while now, but I've been looking for a napkin during that time. Guess what? I can't find the napkin. And if I haven't found it at this point, I've either thrown it away or put it somewhere really good so I wont lose it! The importance of the napkin? Well, a few weeks ago when Ethan was invited to a birthday party, I took Natalie shopping with all her birthday money. We first went to Toys R Us (she had a gift card for there), then went to a nearby mall. When I told her we were going to the mall, she suddenly became super excited! I then realized that she had only been to a mall once before, and it was only for a half hour or so. While living in Germany, we never went to malls, and there aren't any malls close enough to us to go on a regular basis. Sure, we go to "shopping centers," but there is something different about a mall. When we got to the mall, she was saying all kinds of hilarious things that I just had to write down to share with all of you...thus the napkin...that I cannot find!

At Toys R Us, Natalie was thrilled to get her own Nintendo DS! I got her a protective case for it as well as a place to put a couple games.

First on our list of things to do was eat some lunch! She was beyond excited! As we walked from the car she was asking me all kinds of questions about what a mall would be like. I didn't realize I was depriving my daughter of something so important as a mall trip! :-) She wanted to know what people did in a mall, what kind of stores were in a mall, if girls got their feet rubbed and nails painted in a mall (I have no idea where she got this idea from!)...the list went on and on!

We got some lunch and chose to sit where she would be able to look over the railing and "people watch" while we ate. This is where she said some of the best stuff!

"There are so many kids here! I thought it would mostly be grown ups!"

"It must have costed more than two hundred dollars to make this whole place! Maybe like two thousand!"

(I just thought this picture was funny, it makes me giggle!)

"Look mom! They're being green! They have lots of trees and plants in here!"

"Look at those big windows too! That's being green too! They don't have to use lights until its nighttime!"

After seeing a mall cop she asked me something about if the mall could catch on fire, and if it did how would all the people get out of the mall. Its amazing how little brains think!

After lunch we went to Game Stop and got her two used puppy games for her new DS. (I'm all for saving a few dollars!!!) Then went into various other stores until it was time to get Ethan. One store we went in had a huge rack of sunglasses that Natalie just had to try on!!!

Gorgeous darlin'!!!

Oh my goodness, this girl is going to give us trouble when she's a teenager!!!

I was very tempted to buy her these heart glasses!

After trying on glasses, she kept walking around grabbing shirts and various other items saying, "Oh mom! This would look great on you!" OR "Oh no, this would soooo not work on you!" Seriously! Where did that attitude come from!?!?! She was like a whole different child when we walked into that MALL!

Before leaving, I knew we had to stop in one more store. To get there, we had to ride every kids favorite thing in a big building! The escalator!

I took her into Claire's. Her jaw literally dropped and her eyes lit up. She is 110% girl and we are going to have to lock away all credit cards!

Modeling hats for me!

And a sleep mask.

After much debate, she spent the last of her birthday money on a new diary. Although she wanted just about everything in that store!

Overall I think she had a good time!

What do you think?!?! ;-)
