The EGG

Because I haven't had time to go through other pictures yet...and I just turned in an assignment for my online digital photography class...I'm going to share a couple of those pictures instead! Brace yourself, they are extremely exciting!!!

My assignment was to take pictures of an egg or eggs. That was about it. The only other stipulation was to not do an Easter egg hunt. Alrightythen.

I had an idea to lay a bunch of eggs on a poasterboard and take one away at a time until I was left with one. Change the lighting, then crack that one egg open. I figured I'd at least get twenty pictures out of that. For all previous assignments, we were required to have at least thirty, this one he didn't specify a number. I wasn't sure what else to do, but figured I'd come up with something along the way. I ended boiling all but the "center" egg just in case...I'm known to drop/break things. So took pics of water cooling the eggs off. Then did the"egg series," and cracked the egg. After that, I ended up taking quite a few up close shots of the cracked egg from various angles.

Because it is digital photography, we are allowed to change the pictures to black and white, and I chose to select part of some of the pictures to leave in color. I was surprised that I actually like a few of them! It's just an egg, but they look pretty cool! After all that talking, here is some eggy goodness!

The beginning of the "egg series."
(I promise, I won't make you look at all of them!)

The last egg.

I told you it would be exiting!!! The highlight of your day, right?!?! ;-) But I haven't found time to go through more pictures yet. I have just gone through enough for the egg assignment and the one that's due tomorrow in my regular photography class (but those aren't supposed to be sized down, so are harder to use for my blog as well). I still need to do a ton of homework for medical terminology before I can get to more fun pictures...

I dont know if its my current addiction to chickens but this is very impressive. I am totally intrigued by your egg photos and believe it or not would love to see a collage (http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/) of them. Believe it or not, I think I want to frame one! I REALLY like how these turned out. The contrast, the simpleness, the concept of EGGS! You rock girl.

Thanks you so much for the comment you left about my blog. Makes me feel better. I love love love the first picture of all the eggs. It's really cool. I'm picturing it with dyed Easter eggs and I'm kinda thinking that might look cool. I love your pictures, they are amazing.
