Sledding

Today is my last day of winter break. The kids had a no school day because of the large amount of snow we got in such a short period of time. (We just found out they don't have school tomorrow either!) After lunch Roby asked if we should go sledding. Of course!!! The first or second year we were here we went to watch the fireworks near where they are set off. At the time we talked about how good the area would be for sledding. So, we loaded up into the car and headed out. On the way to our spot we saw a hill with tons of kids on it. We decided to see if our spot seemed as good. We were the only people there, and we had a blast!

Heading to the hill.

Ethan did the first couple passes to pack the snow down.

When it was Natalie's turn, Roby pulled her the whole way down. Snow was spraying up from his feet as well as from the front of the sled. There was so much it was hard to see Nat on the sled! He was running so fast that he couldn't stop and did a belly flop at the bottom of the hill.

That was probably the best run of the day!

Natalie yelled, "That was awesome!"

Roby and Nat going together.

This was after Ethan rolled in snow (video later), and Roby and Nat half way down the hill.

I seriously forgot how much fun sledding is! Ethan and Nat were constantly jumping and falling into the snow because they could!

We were all laughing.

We took a little sled (that doesn't really work), the kids found it was good for throwing snow at people...

...she got him a little bit!

The hike back up is always the hardest part, but it helps keep you warm!

Making a snowball to throw at Nat.

She didn't need to make a snowball, she had a sled!

She thought it was great fun!

She was giggling the whole time!

Somehow Ethan seemed to get an extra couple sledding trips, probably because he was most wiling to climb back up the hill.

I just liked her face on this one.

And now a few videos:

One of Natalie's first runs. I love her giggle at the beginning!

Ethan thought it would be a good idea to roll down the hill...

Dad's turn!

My turn! I wasn't just there to take pictures!

Ethan's turn! He got a bit more of a push! LOVE his laugh too!

Face first!

(We were laughing at something...I don't remember what...)

Family picture time! Our kids can do crossed-eyes so well!

I love this one!
