There was quite a bit of drama the last couple days about if or who Ethan was going to trick-or-treat with. He wanted to go with friends, but kind of wanted to go with us, then no friends were going, then different groups...ahhh to almost be a teen! :-) He finally decided to go with just a couple friends that were staying closer to our neighborhood. I think this was a "first step" into doing things more on his own. He was still out of our particular neighborhood, but not too far away.
When I asked the kids what they wanted to be, Natalie had all kinds of ideas. Ethan thought about it for a while then told me he wanted to be Frankenstein. I thought that was a pretty cool, and original idea! Natalie settled on a creepy costume...a "dead bride." I have no idea, she just liked the dress and didn't want to be a princess.
We had some work to do to get Ethan to look like Frankenstein! We found him a jacket to wear at Good. Will, then got his whole outfit "dirty" using corn starch. I didn't have any baby powder and flour wasn't doing the trick. I took pics throughout to show Roby 'cause he's on Alert, and I thought it was fun!
I had Natalie put several layers of white clothing on before her costume to help her stay warm. Its either that or put a big jacket over the costume. When I asked the kids what they wanted to be, Natalie had all kinds of ideas. Next was coloring his hair with black hair spray. He was shaking it up and Maggie was wondering what he was doing!

Just before going outside to color both their hair black.

Black haired kids.

Adding Frankethan's bolts.

Green face-paint and red lines where the stitches will go.

Nat just got some light colored makeup on (her skin is too sensitive for face-paint), and some bright lipstick.

Ready to go!

Because I'm me, I took LOTS of pictures!

These of Frankethan crack me up!

I'm still not sure why she was standing there so proper, but in a weird way, it is kinda creepy!

Yup still kinda creepy... :-)

LOVE this face!

I was digging her hair!

More pics this week of trick-or-treating, their class parties, and a Halloween girl scout event!

I think the costumes turned out totally fab. I am very impressed. Corn starch? I was wondering how he looked so good. Where in the world did you get those bolts. So freaking cool. What is all that red stuff on Nats dress? She made an awesome and yet creepy Corpse Bride.
