Week 1 of 16

As most of you who read this blog know, I started my fourth semester on Monday. It has been a busy week!

The kids had to get used to their new morning routine, just as they were getting used to going back to school with me home.

I had to get used to getting up and ready to leave the house by 7(ish...some days before).

Natalie was MVP this week for her class. I had to make sure she had the right things each day to share. I took a picture with what she took for show and tell on Monday, but I haven't put it on my computer yet.

Monday and Tuesday were kind of a blur. I have a short class on Monday (only two hours), but we will regularly be required to do other things on Monday mornings before class. I hope its not too much because I will fully appreciate that time! Tuesday I had class from 8-4. We helped the new students get all their instruments, put them in the instrument holders (cassettes), etc. It was great being the ones helping out instead of the ones getting them! I now have two "little sisters" at school. The one I was assigned stopped talking to me when I told her I wouldn't accept $5-10 per book or eBay prices. I wasn't being unreasonable, I took the lowest prices I could find on bigwords.com or amazon.com. Then took some money off that! So, I sold my books to someone elses, who had two. I kind of adopted her and have been helping her out as she asks or I think of something. She is really sweet and fully appreciates any help I give!

On Wednesday Natalie was able to have a "lunch buddy" eat with her. I didn't think Roby would be home in time and I was going to be in school all day. I asked if Ethan could go to lunch 15 minutes early to be her buddy. They didn't have a problem with it, so he was able to go! Fabulous big brother if you ask me! Turned out, we got out of clinic early! I showed up right as Natalie and Ethan were walking to the lunch room! Nat jumped up and down and was extremly surprised I was there! I was only able to stay for about 15 minutes because I still had to go to the base dental clinic for my four hours of briefings that afternoon! It was crazy boring! It was also kind of entertaining how big some eyes got in the room when they learned a little about the military. Something like calling your patient by their rank and last name was a shock to them! :-) This will actually be my first rotation of our off-site places. I'm nervous for what they expect us to do in just two hours, but even more nervous because my patient there Wednesday morning will be my first patent in about eight weeks! Most rotations are Wednesday afternoon, but if you're going to the base clinic it is ALL day! I would have at least enjoyed that morning of one patient before going there. Oh well! Roby got home sometime during my briefings. Natalie Brownie Troop had their parent meeting on Wednesday as well!

Thursday I had morning class, then during the time of our afternoon clinic we went to the other off-site rotations that other people will be starting next week. When I got home I made delicious enchiladas then we went to the kids' Open House and Ice Cream Social. The ice cream is always nasty and there was a crazy long line, so we went to Dairy Queen and got ice cream cones there instead. :-)

Today I had clinic in the morning. We worked on each other again. It was boring, but good I guess. I got some good advice on how to use the Ultrasonic without causing hand fatigue and did two injections. I got a call from the school nurse around 1:30 because she was not feeling well.

Tomorrow we are going to go to the base air show. The weather is supposed to be nice, I'm hoping not too hot!

Roby just got home, and he's leaving again within a couple days. :-( I miss him just being around when he's gone.

Other than that, lots of homework this weekend!

259 days until I graduate!
