Roby worked at the base fireworks booth Friday and Saturday. Ethan stayed and helped him for a few hours on Saturday. Ethan did quite a bit of work and had a great time! Because they helped out, Roby was able to buy fireworks at 50% off! The kids each spent most of their allowance on fireworks too! We lit some off on Friday, a few more on Saturday, then went to a friends house last night to light the rest. I don't know how good of an idea it was to get several "adult" men together to blow stuff up! ;-)

Many times the boys would light the big ones at the same time...then run away!
At one point a bucket was brought out of their garage to put firecrackers in. Well, that wasn't good enough. They put a brick of ground bloom flower fireworks WITH some gasoline in the bucket...This was the result. I don't remember how long it burnt, but there were several colored flames.
Yup, they melted the bucket...
Natalie had fun lighting fireworks for the first time this year!

Ethan told me when I was tucking him in that it was the best fourth of July he's ever had! I love to hear that!

That sounds so fun! I love the Roby and Ethan pics. The gasoline sounds a bit desperate for fire entertainment but boys (aka men) will be boys. Too funny! You know I saw those HUGE sparklers but just assumed that was a bit to long for Animal to be around fire. Heck he still touched the wire of the short ones and burnt his little finger. My assumption was probably correct. Maybe next year.
