Yesterday the kids and I went to the grocery store to grab a few essentials (after eating dinner at Lisa's new house)...I guess essentials include purple mums! :-) They are so pretty and come back every year, I couldn't resist! Much easier to care for than fuchsias too!
After doing errands today, it was time to plant them.
They'll be on the front porch for now, I figure I can move them to the back porch in the winter and until they start to bloom again next summer/fall. (The palm is there too because it has centipede/millipede like creepy crawlers all over the soil...ewwww!!! Steph suggested drying out the soil so much that they can't survive, as this happened to her once before as well.)
We also thinned out the dying grass-like stuff that grows along the walk and in front of the house. It looks a LOT better!
I finally was able to get the ball rolling for Natalie's carpet this morning! Its surprising how different a swatch of your carpet looks when its not in your home! It has a peach tent to it and didn't match anything the store had. Most of their colors were more brown based (I was trying to match it, not choose a random color)...but I did find one that hopefully won't look horrid. I guess we'll see when it gets installed! I'll probably not like the difference, but its going to be as good as it gets unless I search ten stores, and I certainly don't have the time for that! She is going to have the nicest carpet in the house! The "better" carpet was on sale for the same price as the same quality that is in our house, so there was no reason not to get it. I told Natalie that I was going to take the carpet out of our room, put it in hers, and put the new carpet in our room! haha She didn't like that idea! I don't know why???
And........I slept ELEVEN house last night! It was great! I could totally go to sleep right now too! :-)

Those purple flowers are so you! I mean duh, they're purple.
I have so many ideas and plans for the front of our house but need to sit down and create a plan so that we can submit it. Without HOA approvial I cant do anything. You are so lucky!
Glad you got sleep and glad you got that carpet ordered. I cant wait to see Nat's room finally put together.
STILL moving, gettin things done and keeping creative with Ethan and Natalie. you're the shit! the house is becoming your home. there's a lot to be said for that. amazing you had the space of time to get some rest in between! lol
You must have really needed that sleep, I'm glad your were able to get it. Those flowers are awesome. If my memory serves me right (please know that I have a horible memory but I really think I'm right on this) your favorite color has been purple since I've know you (middle-high school), is that right?
