Four Weeks Down

Because I always like to add pictures and haven't taken many or sorted through what I already have, here are a few of Maggie. She is a spaz and does her own thing at all times!
(If I already posted these pictures...sorry, I can't think that far back!)

Natalie decided to dress her up a little for a "party"!

When Grandpa Bob was visiting, I found her cuddled up in the dog toy bin (the fraying areas are from when she was a pup and decided it was a good teething toy).

I must have been interrupting her beauty rest.

If she could give dirty looks...I think this would be one.

Yesterday was the end of my fourth week of school. Only 13 more weeks of the semester!

Last week was pretty good. Nothing too serious or stressful. Classes with quizzes as normal. Besides a really long Tuesday. We had normal class from 9-12, then had to be at the other collage from 1-5 for computer training. Then had a ADHA meeting we had to go to from 6:30-9pm. Luckily Fonda was able to pick the kids up (as Roby was still gone then), and they spent the night there.

Working in clinic is always a bit nerve wracking, especially when your partner/patient jumps when you come close to their gums because she has issues with them already. Because of that, I didn't get to work on what I what I needed/felt like I needed to work on so I asked to go to "supplemental learning" next week. They can send you to it or you can ask to go. I figure that if I'm not comfortable with our first instrument, then I need any extra practice I can get. I did pass my "patient/operator chair position and mirror skills test" yesterday! That totally rocks as the whole class didn't pass like we did with the first one. I was so nervous at the beginning that I was literally shacking so hard that I had to stop, take the mirror out of my patients mouth and breathe for a good ten seconds before moving on. Talk about needing to learn to relax!

In Radiology Lab on Thursday, we were having our beginning of class "pow-wow" before getting to work. Next week, group B is starting to work on patients. (Group A did the last two/three weeks, but they had taken radiographs before as they were all dental assistants.) My teacher announced that if anyone gets sick during the next three weeks (B's rotation), "Elissa is the backup." I guess its an honor to have the teachers feel that I am the "most" ready of groups C and D to be a backup, but its kind of an honor you don't want the responsibility of having. I'm in group D and was kind of enjoying not having to see patients until November! As a friend suggested, I think I may need to provide group B with daily multivitamins and Vit C every morning! :-)

Last night Roby and I had somewhat of a surprise date. Ethan was invited to a friends, and I asked Fonda if Nat could come over for a few hours while Roby and I went clothes shopping. For ROBY! Nat spent the night, so we weren't on a time constraint. Lets just say that shopping for clothes is not Roby's favorite. We went to several stores, he got two pairs of pants, new running shoes, and a few shirts. (I may need to get him a couple more...but won't force him to any more stores in the near future.) By the time we got home, I couldn't find my keys. Fabulous. I called EVERY SINGLE store we went to...nothing. UGH I even had the same key ring on it that I had when we got married! Oh well, I guess it happens to everyone eventually. He's my hero and had some new keys made for me today.

On Wednesday Natalie had her first real Girl Scout meeting. She had a blast and cant wait for the next one in a week and a half! I may have found two more patients there too! Gotta love mingling with parents!

On Thursday the people finally came out to measure Natalie's room for carpet! Its not a color/type they have in stock, so I figure it will be another couple weeks, but its already been so long, another two weeks isn't a big deal! I'm just excited to get it in soon! When Roby got home from the store with the "contract of instalation," I noticed the normal $140 instalation charge was not there...in its place was a $230 charge. Hmmmm I called, figured out what was up, and we have to wait until the person who wrote the order works again to fix it. At least we can get it fixed.

And that's my update for today! :-) Hope everyone has a good weekend! I get to study for my first three tests that I have all this coming week! Fun fun! Now its time to stop putting the studying off! ;-)

Super sorry about the keys, that would totally stress me out. I hope the shopping was fun.

Good luck with school, you are doing so well and even your teachers are noticing that. I'ld say thats pretty awesome.

Glad to hear the carpets on the way too. Hooray a complete room for Nat.

That sucks about your keys.

Jason also hates shopping so we end going to one store then we leave and I buy him stuff another time or online.

Can't wait till the carpet is done, I bet everyone is super excited for it to be done =]

How cool about the teacher =]
