The second day of our vacation, we went to Oceans of Fun. After the lack of success at Worlds of Fun, we were hoping that it would be more fun for the kids! We slept in a bit, had breakfast at the best continental breakfast I'd ever had! (There was a guy who's only job was to stock maintain the breakfast room.) Took showers, then headed over to the park. It ended up being sunny, not a cloud in the sky, and over 95 degrees that day. Perfect for water park fun!
Heading into the park!
The first couple hours there we went in the Caribbean Cooler (a moat like stream that flows in a circle), a wave pool (the kids loved this, and I had a random kid land on my head at one point...), water slides (Ethan and Roby went, I tried to get Natalie to go and she wouldn't). But before going on the water slides, we went on Hurricane Falls. The four of us on one raft/tube. Lets just say that within seconds of the guy pushing us down from the platform, Natalie was hanging on for dear life and would not look up. As we were waiting in line, she informed me that she had to use the restroom...after the ride:
Me: Do you need to go potty?
Nat: Not anymore...I think I already goed...
I busted up laughing! It scared the pee out of her! Poor thing! :-)
We hung out in a kid area for a while more while Roby and Ethan did more slides, then went to the care for lunch again. I still could not fathom paying $50 for lunch! About an hour before we decided it was time to go, I thought it was time to whip out my camera! I'm a camera gal after all! :-)
The watersides that Ethan was loving!
In front of the sign.
(I swear he eats! haha)

We headed over to Paradise Falls where Roby and Natalie were hanging out. This was Natalie's favorite part of the park!
There was a giant bucket at the top of the play area that would fill with water and dump out all over the people below.
She LOVED being able to take him all over the little park with her. She later told me allllll about it! :-)
A video of Roby and Natalie going down a little slide together and the bucket of water getting dumped on the three of them!
We left Oceans of Fun, with much protest, around 4:30 pm because the dogs were at home. Max can be left to wonder the house, but Maggie has to be left in her (large) crate as she will eat random things and pee/poo. A friend came over to feed them and let them out twice while we were gone and they did really well. I don't know if Maggie peed in her crate the first day, but her crate was dry when we got home!
The kids were BOTH sound asleep before we got on the highway!
Roby got a horrible sunburn while the kid and I were fine. (And my skin hasn't seen sun in years! haha) I guess with all his freckles and fair skin we need to be sure to reapply the sunscreen on him next time! He still looks like a lobster and his skin is tender! We went through almost a whole bottle of aloe the first 24 hours we were back!

Roby's dad flew in last night for a long weekend visit. I don't know if we're doing anything besides hanging out. We've had a really mellow summer weather wise, but this weekend we are supposed to have the hottest temperatures yet. We may go to the zoo...but who knows!

This looks like so much fun. Im so glad you were able to go and that you all had such a great holiday. Sorry to hear Roby burned but would it have really been a summer holiday if no one got a sunburn? Thats like a family thanksgiving without a fire or arguement. Come on now.
That bucket thing looks like lots of fun. I'm glad you guys got away and had some fun. That's too bad about Roby getting burned.
