We've had a little bit of snow for pretty much the last three weeks. It would be nice if the temperatures could stay above 20! Or zero for that matter! Because of how windy its been, last weekend we had hardly any snow in the backyard, but almost three inches in the front. Ethan asked if he could shovel, and Natalie asked if she could play. I still have a hard time letting them go in the front yard on their own, but figured I would be able to see them the whole time...and its not like they asked me if they could go down the street to the park! After they were outside for, maybe five minutes, Max was sitting at the front window staring at them and whimpering every few seconds. He always wants to know what his kids are doing! I figured that the porch was dry, he doesn't seem to mind the cold, so I would let him watch them from outside. I tied him to the railing, and he seemed pretty content. He watched them run back and forth, throw snowballs at each other, and even relaxed enough to eat some snow.
Our coldest has been below negative 30 (after the windchill). There have, to all of our surprise, been no school delays or closures. The kids never seem to mind the cold...but let me tell you the mom's sure notice it walking them to school or waiting for them outside!!! And we got more snow last night! I have the feeling that this winter is going to be loooong.

Max is so sweet. He's like a big brother. The kids look like they are having a blast although their fun only makes me cold. Stay warm guys!
