The other day the kids and I went to the BX (Base Exchange) just to get out of the house for a bit. There were all kinds of vendors in the front "mall" portion. One of the tables set up was for kids to decorate cookies! I asked what it was for, or if they were representing anyone on base, and the lady said it was "just so the kids could have some fun!" I thought that was great, as even during the holidays it seems that most people ask something in return!
Ethan and Natalie will thrilled to say the least!

Last week the kids each brought home a CD. Attached to it was a note saying that over 1 million copies were given to military members and their families all over the world by the creator. You can check out an article here about it.
For the most part, being a military wife and family isn't that bad. Its just like if Roby had any other job. But there are many many times that we are reminded that the military comes first no matter what. Although him leaving for a week or two at a time all the time can get hard (esp for the kids), we are very thankful that he won't have to go anywhere for six/nine months while we are at this base. Simple things like cookies and CD's to show appreciation (not only for what Roby does, but for what we deal with as well), really does make a difference.

This was cute and a neat thing for someone to offer.
