We thought it was about time that Ethan helped out a little more around the house. What better way to do this by showing him how to "wash" the dishes. Granted we have a dishwasher, but the rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher still needs to be done! I was a bit hesitant at first because I didn't want him to accidentally break our dishes (random image search). But that is part of learning I guess...and a month later he has yet to break something! He has had a really good attitude about it too! We only ask him to wash two or three times a week, so maybe that helps.
He was actually excited the first time he was doing it by himself!
I guess this means we really should start giving him a regular allowance... ;-)

I think you just made my life so much easier...lol! I've been debating having T do the dishes for a couple of months now but wasn't sure if he really was old enough. If Ethan is doing them, I see no reason why T shouldn't! Thanks!
Any young man with that big a grin on his face AFTER doing chores certainly deserves a reward.
What a cute little helper. So does he have a leasing option?
Bet Roby tells Ethan all about the TONS of dishes we made him do all BY HAND as a kid! Kinda like "walking in the snow to school" thing. :)
Hugs,
Mom
