Yesterday I graduated from Iowa Western with an associates degree in applied science! With high honors too! It doesn't sound that fancy, but it was a ton more work than an general associates degree! We were asked to get there around 9, the ceremony started at 10.
Before graduation. Fixing my cap - my hair wasn't made for graduation hats!

Nat and me.

Most of the full-time faculty lined up for the graduating students to walk between before and after the ceremony. It was pretty cool to see the three teachers that we've spent so many hours with during such a big moment!
Walking to my seat.
I think this pic is pretty cool. All of the students in the front, faculty behind them, then friends and family filling the rest of the gym. I'd have to ask Roby, but I think quite a few people had to stand in the back.
Our guest speaker, Representative Mary Ann Hanusa.
The president of IWCC, Dr. Dan Kinney.
The honor students being recognized.
Waiting in line to have my name read.

I'm next!

I wrote a little note on the name-card we gave him to say my name like Alyssa. He got it right! :-)

Shaking hands and getting my diploma cover (we get the diploma in the mail after final grades are put in and the financial part is checked).
Shaking hands with Dr. Kenney.
After moving our tassels from the right to the left indicating we are graduates.
Brandy and me.
We took some of our prerequisites together and did several projects during the last two years together.
And my favorite picture of the day (via Ethan's photography skills)! Roby and me. Roby was such a huge support, I couldn't have done this without him...and I don't think I could ever thank him enough for helping me reach my goals/dreams!

Roby was my fabulous photographer for the day. I loved seeing the pictures later! After graduating, we went to lunch. I accidentally took a nap (that could have been two hours...). When I woke up, the kids were already at friends and Roby took me to dinner and a movie. We were even able to make Roby's last hockey game of the season (they won!). It was a perfect day!!!!!!
THANK YOU to everyone who supported me during the last two years, especially those of you who had to listen to me talk about nothing else!
