A Few Random Pics

It has been a really long time since I posted any pictures, so thought I'd share a few that didn't need any editing or sorting through. I, of course, have some pictures from Ethan's birthday (which I feel bad I didn't do any kind of post for), and various other things. This semester is crazy busy and stressful, so it will likely continue to be this way for another ten weeks. (TEN WEEKS!) I don't know how much I got for that scholarship yet, they have to decide at this months ODDS meeting. Hopefully I'll find out in the next week or two. I had my phone interview with UMKC (I can't remember if I posted anything about that), and I won't find out if I get in or not until mid April. I have my mock-written board on Monday and mock-clinicals on Friday (I don't have a patient for that yet...). Fun stuff I tell you!

This afternoon I went into the school with the kids to deliver some Girl Scout cookies that were sold to some of Nat's favorite people at the school. As we were delivering some in the front office, the main lady asked if she could tell me something about Ethan. I made a joke saying, "uh oh, what did he do?" She then spent the next five minutes telling me how she watches him interact with the special needs boy he helps several times a week and what an amazing job he does. She said he has patients like no other sixth grade boy she's ever seen, and how he calmly directs the boy through their activities. She said that she has heard several other teachers say the same. I almost started bawling I was so proud. He has spoken about helping a special needs boy before, but I didn't realize it was several times a week. I tried really hard to tell him how proud I was of him and how much something like that means to the little boy and other people in his life.

After all that, here are a few pictures:

Over Christmas break, Ethan did a science project that was due at the end of January. He grew sugar crystals in jars changing a variable for two of the three. When he was done, he got on my computer and made a very impressive Power Point to share with his class. He didn't have to make the PP, but it was MUCH easier and cheaper than making a poster or something else where we would have had to print pictures. Ethan told me that a lot of his classmates' project took them an hour or less... Ethan was very proud of his, and got a 100% to prove it!

Working hard.

We had quite a bit of snow this winter (the forecast calls for more in the next week). The neighborhood boys had a blast when it finally got over ZERO degrees so they could play outside. They made a horse/unicorn and a big sled jump (just to the left of the picture).

Proud of their creation.

I haven't posted many pictures of Farley. Every time I look at pictures I took even a few weeks ago he looks so much bigger! He is still quite small for a boxer his age, but I'm ok with it! He is so sweet, wants to please, and would still rather cuddle than run around.

Natalie enjoys his cuddle time too!

Cheese!

That's all for now. Bed is calling so I can study all day tomorrow and Sunday! (I know you're jealous!)

70 days until I graduate!
