Veteran's Day Parade

Not this last weekend, but the weekend before Natalie's Brownie troop walked in our towns Veteran's Day parade. Its a small parade, but the base/military is represented extremely well and many local businesses and clubs come out every year.

It was quite cold (or so we thought, it was the first day under 50 for the winter season), so it was just Nat and me.

She was all bundled up and ready to go!

Ethan tried on Roby's Halloween mask! LOVE it!

Natalie and I rode with Fonda and Nikole. I dropped them off near the start, then drove to the end so we wouldn't have to walk all the way back.

I just like this sign. I guess this part of town is one of the oldest in the area.

I thought about staying at the end of the parade, but when I walked around the corner I saw the flag and heard the speaker system. There was some bleachers set up, so I decided to take a seat (next time I'll bring a chair!).

I took a few pics of random people in the parade.

I like the uniforms of this color guard.

This is Roby's unit. I got a pic of their banner right as the wind blew it back.

Cool old jeep.

Nat's troop! (She was looking up at the flag as they walked under it.)

When Nat finally saw me.

With the flag in the background.

I LOVE her smile!

Nat's turn to help hold their banner.

Group pic.

When they were almost at the end, they noticed not many people were still watching. Because of this, they sat on the side to watch the rest of the parade. The girls were cracking me up "claiming" cool cars that were driving by. They would shout, "I get the red one!" "I get the white one!" Natalie wanted the red one closest to her. :-)

Because it was so chilly, Fonda, Nikole, Natalie and I went to get hot chocolate after the parade. The three of them got together to show of their braces! The girls thought it was funny that I was the only one without.

And a video: The first 45 seconds or so are other troops walking, but hearing about the Girl Scouts is pretty cool. The last part is Nat's troop walking by.
