Closer Together

I took Nat back to the orthodontist this afternoon. It had been two months since she had been, so I felt like it was about time! Things are looking great, and she got some rubber band type things put on the front four teeth to help pull them together. This will make sure there is space for her canines to grow in. She LOVES that she was able to choose pink!!!

On Friday we had some salon drama. It was time for both of us to get a trim, so I took Nat with me. I told the lady that I wanted her hair straight around, and a very slight trim. Not a problem. Natalie has been begging me for quite some time to get bangs. I finally gave in, but only if they were the long-sweeping-to-the-side kind of bangs. I pointed to someone that worked in the salon and said, "like hers." The lady said, "oh I can do that!" I told her I did NOT want straight across short bangs...well, she ended up with straight across short bangs. When I saw them the first time I told her they were shorter than I would like, but we could make it work. She said she had to finish drying Nat's hair and would bring Natalie back to me when she was done. Well...when she came back they were EVEN SHORTER! The lady said that Nat asked her to cut them shorter! Seriously?!?! What stylist listens to an 8 year old?!?! The lady cutting my hair talked to her manager because she didn't like what happened either, tried to fix them a little, and this is what we have (above). Its not horrible, just not what I would have chosen. Luckily, we didn't pay for her hair cut...and I know to not let someone with '80's hair touch Natalie's ever again. I still think she's rather adorable! :-)
