Loss

One of my best friends, Haley, who is currently in Southern Africa with the Peace Corps, just experienced a great loss. Her best friend there was shot and killed on September 4th. I emailed her mom several times who said she wasn't sure if Haley would stay the rest of her time or come home early. I called her a few minutes ago, but she wasn't able to talk long as she the bus to go to his memorial service was waiting for her. I'm going to try to call her again tomorrow morning before school. I don't know if its better to call someone who has experienced a loss like that, or let them grieve. All I know, is that I miss my friend and can't imagine the pain she's in. She has been there for me through everything tough and joyous in my life since middle school; she was one of the only people who stood by my side when I was pregnant with Ethan, she was a maid-of-honor in my wedding, and so much more.

My heart is aching for you Hay Hay.
