Quick Trip

We had a quick ER trip this evening. At 8:15 Ethan came up with me wincing in pain with blood and some hair on his hands. My teachers motto of "DON'T FREAK OUT" went through my head. So, I calmly asked him what happened and where he was hurt. Turns out there were a few staples that were still stuck together on the floor. And he somehow managed to not only jab himself with them, but cut himself pretty good as well. I called a friend and asked if Nat could stay with her for a while just to make sure it wasn't too deep. I could see fatty tissue in it at first and that's never a good sign.

A little while later just before the doctor came in. It was already starting to scab...and swell.

He didn't need stitches, just a good cleaning and instructions on what to look for if it got infected (duh...). I'm glad he's fine, but he could have at least gotten one stitch out of that two hour ER visit! ;-) Now that we're home and the kids are tucked in, its 11:30 and I still have a ton of homework to do...ugh
