Carving Pumpkins

We finally carved those pumpkins on Saturday before getting ready to trick-or-treat. I cut the lids so the kids could get started pulling the guts out.

Roby was so nice to take a few pics! ;-)

Natalie was freaking out and Not wanting to touch the inside of her pumpkin for the longest time. She finally gave in and started enjoying herself. (I think she has ONE finger in it in the picture!)

Ethan was having a blast from the beginning.

CHEESY grin...

He didn't like my cheesy grin, so he took another...up close.

Ethan poking the holes of his pattern onto his pumpkin. He decided he was too big to do one of the kid patterns, hew as ready for an adult one!

I thought the kids patterns were perfect for Natalie. You color in the pre-made dots, then have a thicker knife to cut with.

Our pumpkin guts...

Roby likes carving pumpkins!

Ethan concentrating on his work.

Natalie using her tongue to aid in carving! :-)

Poking the pieces out of his pumpkin.

Being very careful.

I just like the satisfactory look on his face in this picture. Its hard to get a picture of him not being silly, so I love when I get these rare, real emotions from him!

This pic cracks me up though!!!

After we were all done carving, we decided that it would be fun to try and make some kind of baked pumpkin seeds. I've never done this, but figured now would be as good of a time as any! The kids and I spent quite some time picking the seeds out of the goop.

He was loving it, can't you tell?!

This right here, is one of the BEST PICTURES EVER!
She is just as hilarious as her dad and brother when she wants to be!

Our finished pumpkins!

Mine is on the left, Roby's on the right.

Ethan's is the top one, Natalie's is the bottom.

I was very impressed with both of the kids' carving skills! Neither one of them had help with anything besides getting some of the insides out. We now have enough tools for all of us to be working together...I think I'll invest in the battery operated candles next! :-)
