At the end of September the kids' school had an open house night. I'm just now getting around to posting about it... So much going on all the time! About half of the classrooms had activities to make it more interactive. That way the kids could show you what they were learning. They gave each of the kids a "ticket" that they had to get stamped in at least four rooms before they could get a cookie in the gym. In the second grade room, we saw Nikole and Fonda. The girls showed us all about different kinds of animals and how they adapt to their habitats.
In Ethan's class, he showed us his timed math test, his geography test that he recently took, and the skeletons that they had to name at least 10 bones (I'm pretty sure he got all 21 they could choose from). We also went to the reading recovery room where Natalie showed us what she does in there every day. I've been impressed with the new schools system, as they make sure she is progressing (as the old school they went to didn't do this with Ethan). We then went to the library where we worked together to put together a map of the US...man I think I need to freshen up my geography skills! After that we headed to the gym as we were getting hungry and we were hoping the pizza we per-ordered was almost ready! ;-)
The kids playing Chinese jump rope.
Doesn't he look thrilled?! ;-) We were there for a while...
I LOVE how Ethan is in midair though!
It was finally time for pizza, juice, and cookies!!! We were hungry!
It was a really interactive and fun open house. I am seriously impressed with the school and am even more happy that we decided to switch them.

I am very impressed with how similar Nats education is to Q-tips. I am happy to hear that Nat is getting the attention she needs in reading. I also think that having a pizza pre-ordered for open hous is freaking brilliant. What a great idea. Wish our school did that.
