The Benefit Of Laughter

This last week has been extremely stressful for me. Every week seems that way, but this week just seemed more so. Oh well, its done! Seven weeks down!!! 19 months to go! Thursday was the hardest day, so when the kids went into the backyard to play, I decided that I needed to bring my camera out (which hadn't been out besides a few random shots here and there), and just take lots and lots of pictures. The kids were cracking me up and just watching them have pure fun was making me feel great. When I came back inside (because I was freezing), I felt a TON better (not 100%, but a lot). Doing something I really enjoy and enjoying my kids is obviously something I need to do more often! :-)

They told my group on Thursday that we need to find our own radiology patients to bring in on the 15th for x-rays that we may not get during our designated time. I could have used this information a while ago. Apparently I'm supposed to guess what I won't get as well. The main one I'm supposed to bring in is someone with a full/partial denture. I don't know people here! I've been asking neighbors, friends, and even my realtor! No luck so far. I don't know what else to do. We'll see what happens.

Friday I had another skills test. It was for doing an extra/intra-oral exam and documenting the findings (on paper and on the computer) as well as charting restorations of teeth on the computer. We don't know if we passed yet or not because one of the groups was in radiology so they couldn't tell us. I felt pretty good though, so we'll see on Wednesday (I think). I practiced once on Roby before he left on Alert which really helped. And on Thursday night I practiced again on each of the kids. They were really great and did everything I asked them to do. Ethan even held my handy dandy note card that had my list of what to do on it to make sure I got everything. They thought it was fun helping me out too!

On Wednesday I removed my first calculus! haha It wasn't difficult at all, and it finally felt a little rewarding to actually be doing something productive in clinic! I don't think we were really "supposed" to be doing it, but the graduate student came over and suggested I try!

I think that's all I'll bore you with for now, now half of the pics I'll post of the kids playing in the backyard! :-)

Light Sabers!

I love how this one turned out! The kids laughed and said they looked like real light sabers!

Dogs playing! (Maggie is soooo cold!)

She got him!

She used a "push back" to get his light saber.

Ooooooo

I love her "fencing" technique!

So cute! (She was on base to recharge her forces.)

No words are needed!

Ahhhhhhh!

More pics tomorrow! They entertain me!!! :-)
