The Difference Between Guys And Gals

A little over a year ago, Roby and I started a coin jar to start saving up for a trip. We were thinking of doing something for our tenth wedding anniversary. But, now that I was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program, that trip that we've been wanting to go on...and keep pushing back...just isn't going to happen. Its fine, we'll go someday, but we're still going to save! In this last year, I've continued to use cash and not use the change just so I could put it into the jar. I've also put money in here and there when I had an extra $1/5/10 or whatever. Not only that, but when I've sold something on Craig's List or had a yard sale, the money went in the jar. As the jar continued to fill, I realized that it was about time for a new one! The kids and I love animal crackers, and it comes in a perfect size jar! Fabulous. I had it ready to paint, and was going to his weekend...then I saw Roby take the decorating into his own hands. :-)

And this my friends, is the difference between guys and gals:

Yes, Duct tape.

Duct tape cures all! It's the obvious choice for decorating our coin jar!

Before we emptied the old jar (to cash it in, and put in the new jar), I just had to weigh it. It weighed over 18 pounds!!! I was pleasantly surprised by what we've been able to save up over the last year. It may not be as much over the next two years, but every little bit will help! Maybe the summer/winter after I graduate we can finally go on that fabulous vacation we've been dreaming of!!! :-)

That's soooo funny. I was thinking while reading this about what I would make my coin jar look like if I was making one and then I see the duct tape and I literally laughed out loud =]

18 pounds, holy cow!!

You'll get that vacation, and when you go it will be even better. Great job on saving all that money, every penny counts.
