Happy Easter! -- Coloring Eggs

I'm usually not a huge fan of coloring eggs, so we haven't done it for the last two or three years. But because I boiled eggs for my photography assignment, I figured, why not?! I bought a simple kit while at the commissary a few days ago. I wasn't sure what the plan would be today, so I thought it would be good to get it done last night! I got it all set up before calling the kids in.

Pretty colors! :-)

Roby came in as we started, and colored one too!
Doesn't he look excited?!?!

They all look a bit tired...we didn't start coloring eggs until 8.

Natalie didn't remember coloring eggs, so I had to explain it all to her again.

Silly kids!

Nikole being careful.

With one of Ethan's last eggs, he decided to leave it in the purple for a long time and see how dark he could get it.

Cheese!

Right after showing the girls how dark it was getting! Every time he would do this, they would go, "Wow!" or "Awwww!!!" Or something similar, it was quite entertaining the first five times!

Waiting.

The girls were done with theirs, so decorated them with "egg rounds" and stickers.

I love his yawn!

Still waiting.

This was for sure an "Awwww!!" moment!

Checking it out.

Their expressions and enthusiasm made it so worth it!

Lots of stickers!

This one cracks me up! I wish I knew what that look was for!

The finished products! I colored a few too! Once you have it all out, you can't NOT color some eggs too! I think the reason why we didn't do it in the past was because they were so young...it just made such a mess. I think we will have to color eggs again every year! It really was fun!

Egg dying is tons of fun and you SHOULD totally do it next year too. Baby A had a blast dying eggs for the first time and Q-tip was all about doing his own thing. J even got in on the action. I was the picture person and stood by in awe of the excitement that surrounded me.

So what are you doing with the eggs now? I made some egg salad this morning because I realized I did not have corn starch or flour OR paperika for creamed eggs on toast. As a child my Uncle or Grandma made that meal EVERY Easter morning. I am a total tradition breaker...AAAAHHHH!
