Because I went to Natalie's Christmas Party, I went to Ethan's Valentine's Party. Being a little older, they didn't have as much planned. When I got there, they were at recess, so I helped another mom put all the treats that were sent in on plates, then on desks. We were told that we could send in whatever we wanted as there wasn't a set plan...I didn't send anything because I figured they would get enough sugar as it was! Boy was I right! The kids didn't seem to mind! ;-)
When they got back, they all ran to their desks to dig in!
The party was during the last hour of school, the last twenty minutes was spent playing games. The first one was figuring out words using "Happy Valentine's Day."
It was quite entertaining to see how fourth graders think! The first girl's phrase was "Valentine's Day" and the seconds phrase was the name of their school.
His teacher laughing when she realized the second girls phrase.
This is the first time I've seen her do this, so I had to capture it! (I'm sure she's very nice, Ethan has no complaints!)
When we got home, Natalie dumped her cards out in Ethan's room to see what she got.
(The dog purse was just something she had been carrying around for several days.)
I think they both had a great time! They have a five day weekend that is considered their "winter holiday" although I'm still not sure why. The only thing I can think of is that they don't get a full week off for spring break...another long weekend. They have been doing really well playing together, and were even able to playing the six or so inches of snow we got on Friday!
