Last weekend we took Roby to base when he left for his current "trip." The guard that checked our ID's was pretty darn chipper for 6:30 am!!! I commented on it, so we then had to explain to the kids what chipper was and how we didn't understand why Ethan was so chipper in the morning when both Roby and I are very much NOT morning people! He was laughing, Natalie was listening...then said:
I am not chipper in the morning. I don't want to get up either!
Her expression and conviction about not being a morning person cracked me up! But she is very right, I have to tip-toe around my method of waking her up every morning. If I try to be too chipper she gets cranky, if I'm too gentle she gets cranky, if I am silly she gets cranky. It really does take a special touch with her in the mornings! Ethan on the other hand is up and in the shower five to ten minutes before I plan on getting him up!
The other morning I lost track of time until we only had three minutes to walk to school. Ethan gave me a hug and ran to school on his own. Nat and I used "quick feet" to get her to school on time. When we were almost there she said:
* * * * * * * * * *

Man, my legs are poofed!
Its one of those things that I can't bring myself to correct! They grow up so fast, if she wants to say "poofed" instead of "pooped" for a while longer, I'm all for it!
Tomorrow will be my last day this quarter. I'm very happy about it! I did my last speech for my speech class yesterday and felt pretty good about it. Tomorrow I have to give a five minute presentation in my sociology class, then watch the rest of the speeches. Considering the presentations yesterday, I'm not worried about mine tomorrow. I won't get my grades until next Friday I believe...regardless I'm glad another two classes are out of the way!
Earlier today I went out to the college I'm transferring to and spoke with an adviser. I opted to wait an extra twenty minutes or so talk with one that deals with Dental Hygiene students a lot (making my wait over an hour total). I'm only taking one class that I will need next semester...and its one that isn't required until you are getting ready to graduate. In my opinion, its better for me to get it out of the way now, rather than add yet another thing on later when I have core classes I need to take. I'm actually really really excited about next quarter because I'm taking two photography classes too! I'm on the wait list for Photography One, but there are about eight weeks until classes start and I'm the first on the list...so I'm pretty sure I'll get in. The other one is Digital Photography. I believe I'll learn about Photoshop and other technical components. Even if its a bit repetitive with the two, I'm sure I'll learn a lot and will enjoy myself! (Its been a while since I've taken an elective, so I'm going to take full advantage!!!)
The only class I have left that I need for the hygiene program is Intro to Organic and Bio Chemistry. They only offer it in the summer...Mon-Thurs 8am to 11am. I think the class is only 8 weeks, but I'm not sure of the exact dates.
I also spoke with him about my likelihood of getting an interview in February/March. As he's the one that figures out every one's "points" every year, he told me that I have a VERY good chance of getting at least that far. I still don't want to get my hopes up too high, but I really hope I get in the first time! School is good...but it needs to be done with at some point!

Love the morning story of Nat, that will be great material when shes older! As for the "poofed", ADORABLE.
I am so excited about the photography classes, I think you should write everything you learn on your blog or let me pick your brain. I want to learn all about that too.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, you'll see.
