Grandma Nan's Visit -- Flower Garden

Not long before we got Maggie I cleared the area by our walk of all the moldy bark and lava rock to hopefully plant flowers someday. (Which I hadn't gotten around to yet.) When I had to go to class, Gma Nan picked the kids up early from school to have lunch and do a few fun things with them. They went to Burger King, a nursery, and several stores. When they picked me up from school they had a bunch of flowers to plant! We have some mums, pansies, lilies (from Germany that I hadn't planted yet), daffodils, and one other one that I can't think of right now.

We had fun getting the soil ready and planting them all! The mums still look nice and I can't wait to watch the flowers start to grown next spring!!!

Getting the flower bed ready...Ethan's turn with the shovel.

He was trying so hard!

Looking at instructions.

Everyone was helping out! The dogs enjoyed sitting and watching!

Breaking up the dirt and getting the big weeds out.

We added some potting soil that I had in the garage just to help the flowers out a bit.

Deciding where to put what flowers.

The kids were great helpers!!! Lets hope it stays that way next summer when they will have to help me weed! ;-)

Max enjoying the front porch.

Looking up pathetically at Max!

"What do you want?!"
(Roby can't deny that he likes her...he took these pictures!!!)

The finished product!
Hopefully it wasn't too late to plant these and next spring/summer we will have a pretty walkway!!!

In Belgium we had mums last until it they were covered in snow so maybe you will have the same. In the spring I was always surprised at what came back in full force. I cant wait to see what it looks like in spring.

I really liked this post. Seems like all were having fun and the dogs were having a good time watching.
