Oh Yes, Obsessive Amounts Of Zoo Pictures!

When Roby was on leave, we finally went to the Omaha Zoo. We had been promising Natalie that we would go to a zoo for almost a year. We had a great time, and I think we were all extremely impressed! Let the overload of zoo pics commence!!!

One of the first things we saw when we got there were several ponds with all kinds of birds and their babies.

Next was the petting area. Roby and Ethan were entertained by the llama and boar!

He's a big boy!

Natalie was loving it!

I love this picture!!! Just before I took it, Roby and Ethan were over petting the goat too! But no, they saw the camera and backed away!

Looking at otters. I've always loved otters!

Natalie wanted to take a picture in front of the waterfall.

Bears.
(The gates were just slightly too tall for Nat to see over.)

Going into the "bear cave."

Cave view.

I love all these pictures! The polar bear enclosure was made in a way that Natalie could finally get up close and see the animals!

You can see her smile in the reflection! I love it!

They look so cuddly!

A lazy bear.

Tiger

Up close.

Inside the desert dome, there was a surprising number of small animals, reptiles, fish and bugs. Although this picture doesn't have anything in great focus, I love the colors!

I don't think I'd ever seen an owl like this one before.

Now pictures from all of our favorite exhibit! The aquarium! It was Roby, Ethan, and Natalie's time in a "shark tunnel."

See the excitement at spotting a shark?!

So intrigued!!!

At the end of the tunnel there are two circular tanks. This one held piranhas.

The other, jellyfish!!!

One more look at the sharks before moving on.

It was hard to get this guy in focus...he moved surprisingly quickly!

Then we made our way to the butterfly and insect pavilion. I'm sorry to bore you with pics of butterflies, but I had to take a few!

Even Ethan enjoyed it!

Taking a break.

Before we left for the day, we wanted to ride the zoo train. We got there just minutes after it left, so had to wait almost twenty minutes for the next one. It was warm, so it gave us time to look at the nearby zebras and rehydrate.

When we got on the train it was rocking back and forth on the tracks from people moving around. Nat clung to Roby for dear life until she saw animals!

See, much happier!

Cheese!!!

Can't go to a zoo without seeing elephants!

One more posed pic!!!
